Money will be used to purchase and install an MR-Sim at the Cross Cancer Institute in Edmonton
Cancer care in Alberta is set to take a monumental leap forward following an outpouring of generosity from employees at the Stream-Flo Group of Companies and attendees at this year’s Glenn Anderson Day of Golf.
For nearly a year, the Stream-Flo Group of Companies, comprised of Stream-Flo Industries Ltd., Master Flo Valve Inc., and Dycor Technologies Inc., and their collective employees, have been raising funds for the Alberta Cancer Foundation through their Targeting an End to Cancer campaign.
The campaign, which set a goal of $1.5 million to purchase groundbreaking MR-Sim technology that significantly improves the accuracy of radiating tumors while minimizing the risk of damaging healthy cells, has seen numerous employee-driven initiatives and donations since being announced in Sept. 2023.
Now, following the Cure Cancer Foundation’s annual Glenn Anderson Day of Golf held on Aug. 8, we are extremely proud to announce that we have surpassed our ambitious goal and raised a total of $1.6 million for the Alberta Cancer Foundation, Cross Cancer Institute, and our MR-Sim objective.
From left to right, Stream-Flo Group President and CEO Mark McNeill, Stream-Flo Group Vice President of HSE, Technical Training and Property Management Grant Pilgrim, Stream-Flo Industries Vice President and General Manager Doug Jarvin, Master Flo Valve President Larry Walton, and Reid Johnson of the Cure Cancer Foundation pose for a photo during the Targeting an End to Cancer cheque presentation in Edmonton on Aug. 15, 2024.
None of this would have been possible without the support of our staff, many of whom sacrificed countless hours in pursuit of our target, and, of course, the tremendously generous act on behalf of the Cure Cancer Foundation to put the formidable fundraising power of their Glenn Anderson Day of Golf behind our campaign.
To everyone who has contributed to this monumental fundraising achievement, you have our most heartfelt thanks. We will be recognizing those who have helped us reach our goal through a commemorative donor honour roll that will be unveiled at a later date.
Stream-Flo Group employees celebrate after achieving their $1.5 million goal for advanced cancer treatment technology.
While we have exceeded the ambitious goal we set, there is still time to donate to the larger MR-Sim cause.
The entire project, including the construction of the lab where this advanced diagnostic technology will reside, requires $3 million. Both the Cure Cancer Foundation and the Stream-Flo Group of Companies are committed to raising the remaining funds needed for this revolutionary technology to help those fighting cancer. So, if you or anyone you know is willing to help us cross the final fundraising hurdle for this monumental leap in cancer care by getting the Cross Cancer Institute an MR-Sim as quickly as possible, please donate here or by scanning the QR code below: Targeting an End to Cancer Fundraising Campaign
We are closer than ever to a cancer-free future.
