Vintage service truck appears in Rust Valley Restorers
An eagle-eyed vendor of ours saw something familiar on TV recently and was kind enough to share it with us.
The sight for sore eyes? One of our vintage Stream-Flo service trucks, sitting right there, being leaned upon by Mr. Rust Valley Restorer himself, Mike Hall. Its wide side-view mirror, providing the perfect stretch for the man famously known across Canada and the world for collecting and restoring classic cars.
Mike Hall, left, and Avery Shoaf from Rust Valley Restorers chat during the latest episode of the show as a vintage Stream-Flo service vehicle can be seen in the background.
In a small-world twist, it turns out one of our employees knows one of the people who helps film the show.
They messaged their friend, who got in touch with Hall and Avery Shoaf, the other person in the photo and one of the costars of Rust Valley Restorers.
From what the Rust Valley Restorers remember, the Stream-Flo truck was recently sold at an auction to someone from Kamloops.
Shoaf, the one who owned the truck, apparently acquired the classic Stream-Flo service vehicle after trading a hovercraft for it.
So goes the story.
While that likely means our chance to restore the old beauty and get ourselves on the show has, sadly, rusted away, this neat little story still gives us the perfect opportunity to use this gif.
Our truck appears in the episode “Blind Spot”, the most recent from the fifth season of the show.
It makes its cameo as Hall and Shoaf visit Shoaf’s property with an auctioneer to see which vehicles Shoaf should sell. Roughly around the 10 to 11-minute mark.
And although our vintage service truck plays no role in the overall story arc of “Blind Spot”, we are reminded there are no small parts, only small props.
“Blind Spot” is being reaired next on the History Channel on Tuesday, Oct. 29 at 9 PM ET.
