Commitment to safety culture key to major HSE accomplishment
Another 365 days of safe work has been completed across the entire scope of our Indiana, PA operations.
With both field and shop duties executed out of the branch, Area Superintendent Brandon Dunlap points to the “big brother” mentality they operate under as being the main reason for them having reached the milestone.
“Truly caring and being passionate about each other’s wellbeing is definitely a large contributor to this achievement,” said Dunlap via email.
Given the diverse work they perform, Dunlap also credits practice as being key to their consistent safety record, which has now seen the team go over 2,000 days without a single recordable incident.
“The more we practice and demonstrate safe behaviors and evolutions, the better we can be at it,” wrote Dunlap. “It’s something we keep fresh in our minds…’what do we need to do in order to complete this safely?'”
When asked what role safety plays in the overall culture of our Indiana branch, Dunlap said it’s at the forefront and something every daily task and its associated moving pieces starts with, adding the overall support from the wider Stream-Flo organization is greatly appreciated.
“It’s refreshing to know that the company has our backs and supports a safe working environment,” said Dunlap about the corporate importance that is placed on HSE, with robust policies and procedures and guiding principles formed from it.
As a tight-knit group who has each other’s back, Dunlap says he could not be more delighted with how his group has taken safety to heart over the past six years.
“I am extremely proud of the branch for this achievement and their level of commitment to our safety culture,” said Dunlap.
“We are truly blessed to have such a great team here.”
